The draft cyber information security law will be submitted to the National Assembly Standing Committee this month, the Ministry of Public Security said on its website.
Vo Trong Viet, head of the Defense and Security Committee of the National Assembly, asked the Ministry of Public Security to refer to the committee’s feedback to fine-tune the draft.
At a recent meeting on the appraisal of the draft law, Do Ba Ty, vice chairman of the NA, said the drafting team should guarantee the quality of the draft law and make sure it would not contradict or overlap with the current laws.
According to data of security companies, Vietnam is among the Asia-Pacific countries most vulnerable to cyberattacks.
The draft law, if approved, would help strengthen computer network security and protect vital information and data of the country.
