Bati- Holic, a popular
traditional drum troupe, will return to Vietnam for the third time for
performances in Hanoi and Thanh Hoa province in January.

Organised by the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in
Vietnam, the drum concerts by Bati-Holic will take place on January 7 in
Hanoi at the Youth Theater (11 Ngo Thi Nham, Hanoi), and on January 9
and 10 in Thanh Hoa province, as part of the Japan Cultural Day
programme.

Bati-Holic performed in Hanoi and Hue last April, and in Ho Chi Minh
City in 2012. Their powerful drum performances have attracted large
audiences in Vietnam.

Bati-Holic formed in 2004 in Kyoto where the culture and traditions of
Japan accumulated. The troupe’s performances are mixed with songs,
Shinobue (Japanese flute) and Wadaiko (Japanese traditional percussion).

Bati-Holic’s style is oriented towards novelty, using traditional instruments beyond their traditional features.

They perform more than 100 times a year at various venues like concert
halls, schools, festivals, not only in Japan, but in other countries as
well.

The group fills the stage with passion and is full of modern sense,
attracting audiences regardless of generation and cultural background.

Free tickets are available at the Japan Foundation (27 Quang Trung, Hanoi) from 2pm on January 2.
