The central province of
Khanh Hoa has welcomed nearly 13 million domestic and foreign
tourists so far this year, mainly flocking to the coastal city of Nha
Trang, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and
Tourism.
The figure includes over 546,000 overseas arrivals, up 25 percent against the same period last year.
The record figure is attributed to Nha Trang city, which has upgraded
its infrastructure, diversified tourism products, improved services,
maintained prices and ensured tourism security.
The
province plans to open additional international air routes from Russia
and Hong Kong to the local Cam Ranh airport, build an environmental
management system, set up support centres for tourists, and intensify
security work at key tourist sites.
It is expected to receive around 24,000 overseas tourists travelling by sea before the end of the year.-VNA
