Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam (Doosan Vina) announced on March 15
that Vietnamese technicians recently won a global industrial competition
in the Republic of Korea.

The victory at the
Doosan-wide Keson Contest illustrated the exceptional creativity of
Vietnamese workers, said chief worker Phan Thanh Phat, who is the head
of the 12-member Panel Fabrication One Team of the Boiler Division,
which represented Doosan Vina at the competition.

According to
the winner, it was remarkable that in three years Doosan Vina’s
innovation is comparable to that of its parent company’s 30-year
history.

The winning Vietnamese entries were a chamfering tool
and mini crane that the team created to help overcome some production
issues in the manufacture of its high-tech boilers, which are the heart
of a modern power plant, said Phat.

The innovations saved
nearly 2,000 work-hours and 1,000 hours of crane time on the MD II
boiler that is being fabricated by Doosan Vina. They will continue to
save the company time on all future boiler projects, he added. The
competition involved entries from Doosan Heavy Industries’ seven
production sites worldwide.-VNA
