Samsung Vietnam signs MoU with Hue University (Source: VNA)
Hanoi (VNA) – As many as 117 outstanding
third-year and fourth-year students from six universities in Hanoi, Hue, Da
Nang, and Da Lat cities will receive Samsung Korean Scholarships funded by
Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co. Ltd.
The scholarships worth almost 6 billion VND (over
264,000 USD) were announced at a programme launched on October 26 to develop Korean
language skills at the targeted universities.
Samsung and the six universities will also sign a
memorandum of understanding on improving Korean language training covering three
major activities: granting scholarships, financing universities’ development
funds, and internship programmes for students.
Samsung Electronics Vietnam plans to run the
programme annually.
With nearly 6,000 valid projects worth 50.98
billion USD, the Republic of Korea is taking the lead among 116 countries and
territories investing in Vietnam.
In the first nine months of 2017, the country’s
investment reached 6.31 billion USD, accounting for 24.7 percent of total
foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam in the period.-VNA
