Australia’s National Science and Technology Centre, known as Questacon
launched an exhibition on April 10 entitled “Science on the Move” for
teenagers.
It is part of activities to mark the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Australia diplomatic ties.
Speaking at the event held at Hanoi University of Science and
Technology, Questacon Director Graham Durant said the expo provides
opportunities for teenagers to explore and learn about scientific themes
relating to the principles of music and sound, light, human biology,
motion and force.
Questacon arranges several scientific experiments and workshops to improve local teachers’ capacity, Durant added.
According to the director, the exhibition is to boost the two sides’
ties in education that have developed effectively over the past 40
years, and create enthusiasm for science and technology in young
Vietnamese.
He also unveiled that Questacon has
launched an English-Vietnamese bilingual book to help Vietnamese schools
teach technology in English.
The expo lasts
till April 12 at selected universities in Hanoi, at Da Nang University
on April 16-18 and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology’s (RMIT) Ho
Chi Minh branch on April 24-27.-VNA
