Vietnam claim second place overall with six points

Rodrigo’s side demonstrated their superior level of play, dominating ball possession for the majority of the match

Vietnam cruised to a 4-0 lead in the first half thanks to the brilliance of Thanh Tin, Quang Toan, Van Tien, and Ngoc Linh.

After the break, Quang Toan, Dac Huy, and Anh Tai netted three additional goals to seal an overwhelming 7-0 triumph for the yellow stars.

The commanding win over New Zealand helped Vietnam to land second place overall with six points, behind reigning world runners-up Russia, who took first with three victories.

Hosts China came out in third place with three points, while New Zealand stood at the bottom scoring zero points.

Vietnam’s joy was doubled as Quang Toan was named the top scorer of the tournament with a tally of three goals.
