The Vietnamese team included world No 10 Nguyen Quoc Nguyen and world No 16 Tran Quyet Chien. While the South Korean team was made up of world No 12 Choi Sung-won and world No 17 Kang Dong-koong.
With this loss, Viet Nam must now win the two next matches to compete in the tournament’s quarter-finals.
Viet Nam will next face Greece with world No 14 Nikos Polychronopoulos and world No 44 Dionisis Tsokantas, who lost to Denmark 24-40 in the first match.
The tournament has attracted the participation of 16 strong billiard nations, including South Korea, Turkey, the Netherlands, Greece, Denmark, Belgium and France.
