VietNamNet Bridge – Twenty-four players left for South Korea yesterday to attend a 10-day training session to prepare for the upcoming Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Malaysia.

Coach Nguyen Huu Thang called three goal keepers; nine defenders including Vu Van Thanh of Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL), Doan Van Hau of Ha Noi FC and Ho Tan Tai of Binh Dinh; eight midfielders including four of HAGL and Lam Ti Phong of Khanh Hoa; four strikers, namely Nguyen Cong Phuong of HAGL, Ha Duc Chinh of Da Nang, Le Thanh Binh of Thanh Hoa and Ho Tuan Tai of Song Lam Nghe An.

Viet Nam will have two friendly matches in South Korea. They face Mokpo City on August 5 and Busan on August 8.

This is the last chance for the players to display their skills before Thang selects 20 of them for the regional sports event.

At the SEA Games, Viet Nam are in group B alongside Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Timor Leste, and the Philippines.

They face Timor Leste on the opening match on August 15, Cambodia on August 17, the Philippines on August 20, Indonesia on August 22 and defending champions Thailand two days later.
