32 men’s football teams have registered to compete in the upcoming Asian Games (ASIAD 18) being held in Indonesia.

According to Chairman of the Indonesia Asian Games Organizing Committee Erick Thohir, the 2018 event has attracted the largest number of football teams in the history of the Asian Games.
It will be divided into 8 groups, with the two best teams from each progressing to the knockout round.
At ASIAD 17, held in Incheon, the Republic of Korea (RoK) beat The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to win the gold medal in the final.
Meanwhile, although Vietnam successfully defeated their strong rival Iran 4-1 in the qualifying round, they lost 1-3 to UAE in the quarterfinals.
