Clinical tests showed that the man was infected with the H1N1 flu virus that killed a Yen Bai man early this month.

The hospital said the patient died on April 18 suffering from
respiratory failure, blood clotting disorder, and severe multi-organ
failure.

The man was said to have high temperatures, a headache and body discomfort on April 3. He used antipyretics and anti-flu drugs.

Two days later he went to the Yen Bai general hospital for medical check-ups and doctors said he had caught pneumonia.

He was admitted to Bach Mai hospital on April 8 after having
breathing difficulty and passed away more than a week later despite
intensive care.

Clinical tests showed that three relatives of the patient were also infected with the virus, but recovered completely.
