Temperature fell to 10 degree Celsius on October 13 in the resort
town of Sa Pa , the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai ,
for the second time this Autumn due to a cold air mass.
The mercury also fell by 5-7 degree C in other sites in the province, ranging from 15-20 degree C.
The local weather forecast agency said another cold air mass will arrive on October 15, further pushing down temperatures.
The cold weather came one month earlier than normal, prompting the
authorities to issue warnings, urging people to take caution, such as
keeping warm for old people and children. At the same time, measures
should be taken to protect the cattle herd, including repairing sheds
and stocking up on feed, as local farmers traditionally graze their
