The 10-tonne whale stranded in the southern province of Soc Trang
died of exhaustion on October 12 despite rescue efforts by local
people and authorities.
The whale, which is around 13 metres long and 2 metres wide, was found in Vinh Chau town on October 11.
Fishermen said this is the first whale to get stranded by the tide.
The whale will be buried at a pagoda in the locality.-VNA
