The second phase of the 2014 national university entrance exams kicked off on the morning of July 9, with some 575,180 candidates sitting the exams, which run through July 10.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, there are 939 exam venues with over 22,109 rooms nationwide. The ministry mobilised 65,659 teachers and educational staff to administer the exams.

The second phase of the exams continues to receive warm support from the whole society. Over 21,800 youth volunteers participating in exam support activities have created favourable conditions for candidates and their relatives.

Societal organisations have offered 32,261 free meals and 45,550 free accommodations for students and relatives who have come to big cities to sit the exams.

The students took Mathematics (for Group B and D) and Geography (for Group C) this morning. They will continue with Biology (Group B), Foreign Languages (Group D) and History (Group C) in the afternoon. Students will finish their exams with Chemistry (Group B) and Literature (Group C, D) tomorrow morning.
