VietNamNet Bridge – A ceremony to honour 50 elite Vietnamese students who recorded high results in their academic studies and have won international prizes has been scheduled for November 3 in Hanoi.

The information was released by the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) at a press conference on October 30.

At the event, 11 students who won gold medals at the last International Olympics and 24 students who were honoured at regional and international competition will receive Prime Minister’s certificates of merit.

Five students recognised at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel Isef 2014) and 10 students who topped the university entrance exams will also receive certificates of merit and cash prizes.

In addition, the recipients will receive gifts from a number of sponsors.

On the occasion, 20 outstanding teachers and staff will be honoured thanks to their great performances.

MoET Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Nghia said the ceremony aims to encourage researches and creativeness in study among Vietnamese students and raise their awareness on national sovereignty.

They will also get a chance to attend a number of meaningful activities including an exchange at the Navy Command in Haiphong, an incense-offering ceremony at wharf K15 in Do Son, and a visit to the Navy Museum.
