The northern province of Vinh Phuc granted a fifty-year operational
licence for an Outward Bound School and eco-tourism project, an outdoor
adventure education model which is the first of its kind in Vietnam, on
October 16.

KinderWorld, a Singaporean education group, invested a total of 17 million USD in implementing the project.

With centres in more than 30 countries, Outward Bound programmes work
with children, youths and adults to foster self-development, team work,
leadership and survival skills through outdoor activities.

The
eco-school, comprising accommodation and educational facilities, will
be constructed on 24.87ha in Ho Dong Cau in Phuc Yen town, Vinh Phuc
province.

Once the school is operational, it will run courses throughout the year for up to 300 people.

Phung Quang Hung, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said
Vinh Phuc highly valued the contributions of foreign investors and
considered them an integral part of the province’s economic growth.

So far, Vinh Phuc has attracted 176 foreign-funded projects worth
approximately 3 billion USD, with Singapore accounting for 268 million
USD in 8 projects.

By September, 2014, 14 countries and
territories invested in the province, with Taiwan (China) topping with a
registered capital of over 1.1 billion USD in 38 projects and Japan
coming second with 717 million USD in 21 projects.
