Choir wins thanks to folk songs

HA NOI (VNS)– Vietnamese children’s choir Sol Art has won the Audience Prize at the 8th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival which took place in Wernigerode, Germany.
The 24-member choir also won a gold medal in the Folklore category together with China, Canada, South Korea and South Africa.
During the 15-minute performance, the choir introduced Vietnamese culture and agriculture in three folk songs from different regions of the country.
The festival is part of the INTERKULTUR organisation’s World Choir Games, which started in 1999.
This year’s event, which ran from July 17 to 21, drew 44 choirs with a total of 1,300 participants from 18 countries and territories. – VNS
