President Truong Tan Sang has stated that Vietnam stands ready to
increase the scale of cooperation with Angola and deepen bilateral
ties.
The President made the statement at his reception in
Hanoi on October 30 for Angolan Minister of Science and Technology
Maria Candida Teixeira, who is here to attend the sixth meeting of the
Vietnam – Angola Inter-Governmental Committee.
President
Sang suggested both sides review cooperation mechanisms across all
domains, from politics, economics and culture with a view to enhancing
bilateral ties, while regularly discussing regional and global issues of
mutual interest. The two sides can consider signing more agreements if
necessary, he said.
The President also said Vietnam can send more experts and workers to Angola.
Minister Maria Candida Teixeira shared the same view with her host,
saying that the existing cooperation has yet to fully exploit each
side’s potential.
At the same time, she noted cooperation
between Vietnamese and Angolan ministries and agencies has grown more
effective over the past time, and both sides should work in this
direction for mutual benefits.
Thanking Vietnam for its
professional assistance in health care and education, the minister
stressed that Angola always has warm feelings for Vietnamese friends.-VNA
