President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyen
Thien Nhan has suggested that the VFF and the Solidarity Front for the
Development of the Cambodian Motherland (SFDCM) further their
cooperation and exchange in the coming time.
At a reception
for visiting Deputy President and Secretary General of the SFDCM Min
Khin in Hanoi on October 30, Nhan, who is also a Deputy Prime
Minister, affirmed that Vietnam always stands side by side with
Cambodia in its national construction.
He said that the two
mass organisations should increase communication activities to raise the
public’s awareness on Vietnam-Cambodia traditional friendship and
long-lasting solidarity, and share experiences in how to gather the
people and encourage them to join in social order maintenance,
environment protection, cultural tradition preservation, poverty
reduction and socio-economic development.
Min Khin, who is
also Minister of Cults and Religion of the Kingdom of Cambodia,
said he is delighted at the increasing development of friendship and
solidarity between the two countries.
He informed the VFF
president about the outcomes of the talks between his delegation and a
delegation from the VFF Central Committee, saying that the SFDCM will do
its utmost to preserve and further deepen the traditional friendship
between the two nations.
Previously, the VFF Central Committee
delegation led by the front’s Vice President and General Secretary Vu
Trong Kim held talks with the Cambodia delegation.
At the
talks, the two sides informed each other of both countries’
socio-economic development and activities of their fatherland fronts at
all levels.
They also discussed measures to hasten the
implementation of the 2011 memorandum of understanding on the
cooperative programme between the SFDCM, the VFF and the Lao Front for
National Construction as well as preparations for the
Laos-Vietnam-Cambodia Front Presidium Conference in Vientiane, Laos in
the coming time.-VNA
