Around 290 domestic and Japanese businesses will attend Japan
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Week 2013 scheduled for
October 23-26 in Hanoi and central Da Nang city.

The annual event, jointly held by the Vietnam Software and IT Services
Association (VINASA) and the Vietnam-Japan IT Cooperation Club (VJC)
since 2007, aims to stay ahead of the strong shift in Japanese firms’
overseas cooperation in the field this year.

During the event, participating enterprises will take part in a wide
range of activities such as conferences on cooperation between
Vietnamese and Japanese businesses, and an offshore business development
forum.

The week also includes a writing contest
about applications for smart phones and tablets, an employment fair,
cultural exchanges and tourism activities.

In
addition, it will provide a good opportunity for domestic IT firms to
seek Japanese partners and promote business cooperation.

According to VINASA Chairman Truong Gia Binh, Japan is the world’s
third largest IT market after the US and the EU, spending 130 billion
USD in the field.

Binh further said Vietnam is
taking the opportunity to widen its market and expand IT cooperation
with the Japanese side, noting that the country surpassed India to
become Japan’s second largest IT partner last year.

Most Vietnamese software firms have seen a sharp increase in their
revenue gained from the Japanese market. Notably, some enterprises such
as Luvina Software Joint Stock Company have adapted to absolutely
serve the foreign market.-VNA
