VietNamNet Bridge – The U23 team of Turkist FC Galasataray arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday to prepare for a friendly against the Vietnam U23 team.
U23 Galasataray at Tan Son Nhat Airport, Ho Chi Minh City.
U23 Galasataray brings 17 players to Vietnam, including two members of the Turkist national team – goalkeeper Alperen Uysal and midfielder Ismail Unsal. The rest are the club’s young players who play overseas for the first time.
Coach Orhan Atik said: “This is the first time we’ve been to Vietnam so we do not know much about your country. I’ve learned about Vietnam football, but frankly I do not know anything about your football and our rival – the U23 Vietnam.”
“However, we believe that we will not disappoint fans. Winning in football is not the most important thing. We want through this battle to learn more about the people of Vietnam and your football,” he added.
The Turkist team had a drilling yesterday afternoon in the Thong Nhat Stadium. The friendly match between this team and U23 Vietnam will take place at 6pm today, 27/9, also at the Thong Nhat Stadium in HCM City.
