Representatives from the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Indonesia are
in Seoul undertaking their fifth round of negotiations over a
bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) from September 8-14.
The two countries plan to hold in-depth discussions on all sectors
related to the deal, including products, services, investment, customs,
regulations and cooperation at the talks, the RoK Ministry of Trade,
Industry and Energy said in a press release.
The
previous round, held last July on Indonesia ‘s Bali Island ,
discussed on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA).
Indonesia is part of the 10-member Association of Southeast
Asian Nations (ASEAN), with which the RoK already has an FTA.
In 2012, Indonesia was the RoK’s eighth largest trading partner,
with trade volume reaching 29.6 billion USD, according to the ministry.
Indonesia is also the world’s seventh largest destination for RoK investors.-VNA
