A regional conference on labour disputes was held in Hanoi on Feb. 28
by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Vietnam, the host
Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and the ASEAN
Secretariat.
This was an opportunity for
governments, employees and employers’ organisations in the region to
seek solutions for labour disputes.
To reduce and
resolve the disputes in Southeast Asia , employees and employers should
reach a consensus, said participants at the gathering, adding that
dialogue and compromise were very necessary.
Addressing
the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hoa said that Vietnam is also
amending its labour law, aimed at building a harmonious labour
relationship and protecting legal rights of both employees and
employers. -VNA
