Indonesia’s National Police Criminal Investigation Directorate has
arrested 25 Nigerian people in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta , for their
alleged involvements in money laundering via email account hijacking.

Indonesian Police Commissioner General Sutarman said, during the raid,
the police also took three Indonesian women into custody.

All of
the suspects were alleged to be involved in online frauds with
potential losses of around 2.719 million USD, he added.

According
to Sutarman, Indonesia police has investigated the case for a month and
found out that the criminals first hijacked their victims’ emails and
stole their data then used these data for their frauds or disguise the
illegal origins of their money.-VNA
