The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has joined the private sector in
organising a campaign to encourage more people to ride bicycles.

Deputy Governor for Tourism Products Vilaiwan Twichasri revealed on
March 20 that the tourism authority has joined N.C.C. Exhibition
Organiser Co., Ltd. to organise Bangkok Bike 2013, an event that
features everything about bicycles.
Vilaiwan said that
bicycle enthusiasts will get to find everything they need for biking
while visitors will get to know and choose to join Thailand ’s first
bike tourism.
The TAT Deputy Governor stated that there
has been a growing trend of biking in Thailand , proven by a 20
percent growth in bicycle sales in the country last year.
She added that the growing trend has also been promising after records
show bicycle travel sector has earned as much as 900 million THB in
tourism revenue last year.
Vilaiwan went on to say that
the upcoming evening will be held under the theme “Let’s go green” and
that fair-goers will learn more about popular biking routes across the
country and pick up information from travel gurus as well as several
booths at the event.
The TAT Deputy Governor said 30
million THB has been invested in organising the event, which is expected
to see about 200 million THB spending until the last day.
Bangkok Bike 2013 is also scheduled during May 2-5 at Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi.-VNA
