About 80 students and youths from the Association of Southeast Asian
Nations (ASEAN) will stay in Japan from March 31 to April 7 to
promote mutual understanding and friendly relations with Japanese young
generation.

The activity is under the program of
the Japan East-Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths
(JENESYS) 2.0 that was announced by the Japanese Prime Minister Shindo
Abe on his visit to Indonesia on January 18.

During their stay, ASEAN youngsters will have a chance to exchange
traditional culture with local residents and visit Chubu, Kansai and
Kyusyu to study their manufacturing process and the application of
high-tech products for the country’s creative industry.

About 30.000 Asian and Oceanian young people, including 10.000 ASEAN
youths, are expected to visit Japan under the program.-VNA
