VietNamNet Bridge – Large-scale music festival ‘Oh la la’ featuring popular Vietnamese and French singers and bands will take place on October 12 at Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi.

The event which aims to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries features Vietnamese singers Thanh Lam and Le Cat Trong Ly, composers/instrumentalists Ngo Hong Quang and Duc Minh, Viet Vo Da House, singer/guitarist La Grande Sophie, Leila Bounous, Hamon Martin and Poni Hoax from France.

Spectators can enjoy performances in the languages of Vietnamese, English, French, Arabic and Breton. It is expected that around 16,000 invitations will be sent out.

“Vietnamese audiences, especially young people are encouraged to join in a diversified and colorful music festival where talented artists of both countries share their different genres of music from traditional music to contemporary folk, to rock and electro-jazz,” said Benoit Paumier, general inspector in charge of cultural affairs of France’s Ministry of Culture and the general commissar of France Year in Vietnam, in a statement.

The program is produced and directed by Philippe Bouler who has lived in Vietnam for 30 years, and his ATC International team. According to organizers, the French Embassy in Vietnam and French Institute, this is the biggest music event to take place at Hang Day Stadium.

France Year in Vietnam kicked off in April with a Vietnam-France Businesses Forum and will wrap up on December 14 with a musical and 3D performance at the Reunification Palace. There are hundreds of events in the fields of economy, culture, education, sports and gastronomy in the framework of the program.
