VietNamNet Bridge – An art performance, entitled “Khoi thu” (The beginning of autumn) by artist Dao Anh Khanh will take place at Dao Anh Khanh Treehouse, Alleyway 462 Ngoc Thuy, Long Bien District, Hanoi at 7.30pm on October 6.
This is the first part of Khanh’s latest four-piece performance series.
“I chose Autumn to begin my series of performances, like there was a time the letter ‘e’ as the first character of the alphabet. From Autumn, to Winter, then Spring and Summer. Each season of nature will rush in, and strongly manifest itself, in my works,” Khanh said.
The series “Cung nuoc” (With water) includes four performances on water by artist Dao Anh Khanh.
The series is an experiment artpiece using Water as the environment.
Each performance in the series is a journey to explore the language of performing art with choreography, body art, music and lighting.
Dao Anh Khanh was born in 1959. He is an professional contemporary visual and performing artist, famous for his series “Dao Xuan” which was performed 8 consecutive times in the span of more than 10 years (starting from 2001 in Ngoc Thuy, Long Bien) and other works all over the country and around the world.
Not only a performance artist, he also the author of many visual artworks, sculptures, architectural and landscape designs that bear his unique style.
