Vietnam National Symphony
Orchestra (VNSO) is performing with two special guests — American
conductor David Miller and the young Russian pianist Ilya Rashvovskiy —
on April 3 and 4 at the Hanoi Opera House.

Ilya Rashvovskiy, born in 1984 in Russia, made his debut with Irkutsk orchestra when he was just eight years old.

Before winning the 8th International Piano Competition in 2012, Ilya
Rashvovskiy had been consistently listed as one of top winners in
international piano competitions such as the M.Long-J.Thibaud in Paris,
Queen Elisabeth in Brussels and A.Rubinstein in Tel Aviv. He also won
the first prize in the International Piano competition in Hong Kong.

Ilya’s latest CD ‘Chopin Complete Etudes’ was released by Victor
Entertainment Japan in October 2013. He also recorded Tchaikovsky’s
Season and Sonata in C-sharp minor for Label Records in 2008 as well as
Fantasies (Mozart, Chopin, Liszt và Scriabin) for Alpha Omega Hong Kong
in 2009.

The Grammy Winner David Alan Miller has proved himself to be one of the
best conductors of his generation. Before being appointed Music
Director of the Albany Symphony Orchestra in 1992, he was the
co-conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. From 1982 to
1988, Miller was Music Director of the New York Youth Symphony
Orchestra.

Miller won a Grammy in January 2014 for Naxos Conjurer of Corigliano,
along with the Albany Symphony Orchestra and Dame Evelyn Clennie.
