VietNamNet Bridge – The well-known Vietnamese-English pianist Bich Tra and other foreign musicians will teach young musicians this summer.
Bich Tra, along with three famous artists, will take part in the Saigon Chamber Music program on August 2-9 in HCM City. This is a summer music festival for young musicians and music students in the country, held at the HCMC Conservatory of Music.
The two others are cellist Zoë Martlew, the judge of an annual musical talent contest on the BBC, and Atle Sponberg, one of the leading violinists of Norway.
Saigon Chamber Music 2014 will open with the concert titled “Mosaic of a Century” on August 2, in which Bich Tra will perform with Zoë Martlew and Atle Sponberg.
Nineteen outstanding students from the three biggest academies of music in Vietnam have been selected to participate in the program. They will spend an entire week, from 8:30 am to 6pm every day, to experience the new model of summer music festival.
In the UK, summer music festivals play an important role in the process of musical training.
During the week of the festival, young artists will learn experiences from the three famous artists.
Workshops on music will be held every evening for music lovers and music students. Between the seminars will be musical performances with professional presentations.
The “Young Virtuosos Concert” on August 8 will close the first season of the Saigon Chamber Music.
The summer music festival is organised by the HCMC Conservatory of Music and the Transposition Programme (a Norwegian-Vietnamese organization for the development of music in Vietnam).
