VietNamNet Bridge – The French Institute in Vietnam and Idecaf will hold a guitar recital of Gabriel Bianco at Idecaf on May 22 at 8 p.m.

Bianco has established himself as one of the most active guitarists of his generation. His constantly-updated repertoire comprises both original works and transcriptions covering all periods of classical music.
An eight-time First Prize winner at the most prestigious international competitions, notably at Vienna 2006, San Francisco 2008, Madrid 2011, Bianco has performed recitals all over the world, such as Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, Central Conservatory of Beijing, Herbst Theatre in San Francisco, The Luis Angel Arango Library in Bogota, The Centre Culturel of Sao Paulo, and the Auditorium of the Music Academy in Poznan.
He has also appeared at around forty international guitar festivals in France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Greece, Russia, Thailand, India and Peru, among others.
His first CD, released in 2009, received high praise in the musical press, and appeared on the cover of Thai Guitar magazine.
He teaches at the Maurice Ravel Conservatory (13th district) and the Jean-Philippe Rameau Conservatory (6th district) in Paris.
In the program in Vietnam, Bianco will play Fantaisie – De Mon Triste – La Compagna by Francesco Da Milano; Fantaisie Dramatique – Le Départ, Le Retour by Napoléon Coste; Julia Florida – Choro da Saudade – Valse N°4 by Agustin Barrios; Grande Sonate pour Guitare – Romanze, Andantino Variato by Niccolo Paganni; Sonate BWV 998 (extraits) – Prélude, Fugue by Johann Sebastian Bach; Variations sur un thème Catalan by John Duarte; and Sonate pour Guitare – Allegro, Allegretto Tranquillo, Andante, Finale : Allegro Vico by Joaquim Turina.
