Goethe Institute and The Observatory will host an exciting show for
artists Lutz Leichsenring, Chi Thanh and Chi Thien of Berlin Club Night,
Germany at 8 p.m. on April 12 in HCMC’s District 4.
Berlin Club Night is a co-producer for numerous successful events among
night clubs in Berlin, and various programs of Goethe institutes and
German embassies in the world.
The upcoming event features Chi Thanh, a talented Vietnamese German
artist/producer/DJ, who can play piano, guitar, drum, bass, and
saxophone from Berlin. He was nominated for a Grammy Latin Awards as a
songwriter for the best rock song with U.S. composer Desmond Child.
Another Vietnamese German Chi Thien and John B.Murder, under the name
of Chopstick Johnjon, has produced many techno, house, electronic
and hip hop pieces for over ten years for leading artists like LL Cool
J, Xzibit, Deep Dish, Miss Kittin, and Sister Sledge, among others.
Thien, who was born into a Vietnamese family with a rich root in arts,
now works and lives in Berlin.
Leichsenring is a music manager and the press officer and board member
of the Clubcommission Berlin. Leichsenring is also a member of Berlin’s
Chamber of Commerce and Musicboard, where he frequently votes on city
development issues that serve to protect club areas affected by
gentrification.
Prior to the performance in HCMC, the duo Chi Thanh and Chi Thien will
join the Hanoi Soundstuff, an annual electronic and experimental music
and art festival initiated by DJ Tri Minh in Hanoi since 2008.
The show will take place at The Observatory, 5 Nguyen Tat Thanh in HCMC’s District 4.
