Localities in Hanoi’s suburbs have been covered with a huge amount of rubbish due to recent floods.
Over the past week, people in Nam Phuong Tien Commune in Chuong My District have faced many difficulties because of flooding. The floods have left dead livestock including pigs and chickens. Some parts in Nam Hai Village remain three metres under water. According to local residents, rubbish was not collected timely before the floods. The pollution has sparked the worry about the outbreak of disease after floods. Road 421B in Can Huu Village, Quoc Oai District have been inundated. Local children come there to swim, affecting traffic.
