A farming museum with farm and fishing tools located near the Thanh Toan bridge features the life of Thanh Thuy Chanh commune, 8km southeast of Hue City.
Thanh Toan tile-roofed bridge in Thanh Thuy Chanh commune in Thua Thien-Hue Province.
The farming museum, built in 2014, replicates daily activities of farmers in the village, and also includes information about the history and culture of the village.
There are about 200 objects and 100 photos divided by topic.
“These manual tools were used in the past to husk or grind rice, plough or rake the soil. The tools were closely linked with the locals who maintained them carefully and donated them to the museum,” said Nguyen Thi Kiem, member of the Thanh Thuy Chanh commune.
The objects include a stone grinder, porcelain bowls and plates, earthen pots, bamboo beds, bamboo cradles, and bamboo frames for carrying poles, rice carts, fishing nets, and fishing baskets.
Displays about weddings, Bai Choi folk singing, and boat racing are also part of the exhibition.
As an attractive destination in Hue, the museum welcomes more than 100 local and foreign visitors each day.
