VietNamNet Bridge – On the morning of September 2, 100 couples dressed in Vietnamese ao dai made a bicycle parade around the center of Ho Chi Minh City before attending the mass wedding ceremony.

The group wedding ceremony for 100 couples who are workers at HCM
City’s industrial parks and export processing zones was held by the
Center for Support of HCM City Workers.

With the theme “Celebrating the beauty of Vietnamese culture,”
from early morning 100 couples gathered before the headquarters of the
HCM City Youth Union to prepare for an electric bicycle parade.

Each couple had to pay only VND1 million ($50) for the wedding party. The remaining cost was covered by the organizers.

The idea of using electric bicycles was considered very carefully
by the organizers because it’s a means of saving, efficient and high
safety transport. The image of young couples wearing helmets, dressed in
traditional dress, the brides holding lotus flowers on electric bikes
attracted the attention of many people and foreign tourists.

100 couples paraded through the roads of Pham Ngoc Thach, Dong
Khoi, Le Thanh Ton and Nguyen Hue before attended the flower offering at
the monument of President Ho Chi Minh.

Before the mass wedding ceremony, the couples participated in a
training course on building a happy family, marital psychology and
productive health.

According to the organizers, these were 100 couples who could not afford to hold weddings.

After the flower offering ceremony, 100 couples went to the Tan Binh Grand Palace Convention Center for the wedding party.

This is the sixth time a group wedding ceremony held for poor workers in HCM City.
