Vietnamese students pocketed three gold medals in the first day of the ASEAN Schools Games (ASG) in Hanoi on June 24.
Nguyen Thi Anh Vien won all three golds with her titles in the women’s
100m backstroke, 200m freestyle and 400m medley events.
The 17-year-old also pocketed a bronze in the 100m breaststroke.
Her success helped Vietnam end the first day second place in the medal tally.
Thailand are in top position with three golds, two silvers and five bronzes.
The third place is currently held by Malaysia who have bagged two gold, two silver and one bronze medals.-VNA
