In the plan for 2013, the training course in Japan is an important part. Earlier, through the good relationships between the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Japan Football Association, many ideas to raise the level of women’s soccer were launched. One of them is to send Vietnamese players to play in the women’s J-League and to organize a training course for the national team in Japan.

The VFF has not received feedback from the Japan Football Association for the first idea while the second idea faces some barriers, including funding problems.

The VFF has had to tighten its belly. Previously, the men’s team always stayed in luxurious hotels but now they have to base at the National Center for Young Football Training. The funding to take the women’s soccer team with over 30 people to an expensive country like Japan is a big issue.

Moreover, the weather in Japan in August – September is not favorable. Therefore, the VFF plans to hold the training course in the RoK, not Japan.

It is expected that the course will start on August 26 and end on September 5. After that the team will go to Mandalay (Myanmar) for the 2013 AFF Cup. The VFF will arrange friendly matches with 3-4 Korean teams during this trip.

The team’s coach Chen Yun Fat wanted to move from RoK to Myanmar instead of returning to Vietnam and they go to Myanmar. The VFF is trying to meet the coach’s request because the visa application procedures to Myanmar take a lot of time.

After the end of the national women’s football on June 22, female players will be off for about a month before being convened on August 1 in preparation for the AFF Cup 2013.
