VietNamNet Bridge – The national women’s football team ranks second in Southeast Asia after Thailand in the latest FIFA rankings for the first quarter of this year.
Accordingly, the Vietnamese women’s football team remains the 30th position, with 1,640 points because it did not participate in any tournament since the beginning of the year.
In Asia, Vietnam still ranks seventh after Japan (3rd), Australia – North Korea (9th), South Korea (16th), China (17th) and Thailand (29th).
In the world’s top 10, there is no change in the seven top teams. In this group, Canada and the UK have the same point and both rank 7th, similar to the case of Australia and North Korea with the 9th position.
In the second quarter, the Vietnamese women’s team will compete in the 2014 Asian Cup qualifiers with three matches against Bahrain, Kyrgyzstan, and Hong Kong in Group C. To prepare for this tournament, the team will be summoned on April 15 for drilling.
The team’s biggest goal now is winning a card to the women’s World Cup 2015 and the 2014 Asian Cup is the first step.
