Vietnamese women earned the highest accolades as the Southeast Asian
Football Federation (AFF) awarded individual and team honours for the
first time this year.
The national women’s football
team was named the best women’s team of the 2012 and goalkeeper Dang Thi
Kieu Trinh the best woman player of the year.
Experts said this was a well-deserved recognition for Vietnam as the
country convincingly won the AFF’s women’s football championship last
September.
On the men’s side, Singapore was
named the best team and Thai striker Teerasil Dangda the best player of
2012. The prize presentation will take place in April in Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia.-VNA
