A meeting was held in Hanoi on March 27 to discuss how to boost
cooperation in culture and fine arts between Vietnam and Cambodia
in 2013 and the subsequent years.
At the meeting,
Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh and
Cambodian Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Him Chhem agreed that this
year, the two sides will continue their coordination in organising
cultural and fine arts exchanges among the two countries’s bordering
provinces.
They supported the opening of fine-arts
camps to demonstrate the friendship between the two countries, and
agreed to hold a Cambodian cultural week in Vietnam this year.
Anh told his Cambodian counterpart that cultural and fine-arts schools
under his ministry will provide Cambodian students with scholarships
besides those granted by the Vietnamese government.
The guest said the Cambodian side supported the building of a Vietnamese cultural center in his country.
Last year, Vietnam and Cambodia successfully organised the
Vietnam-Cambodia friendship year with various activities, including
performances by artists from the two countries.-VNA
