The Vietnamese Government always creates favourable conditions for the
country’s students to join Southeast Asian sporting activities for
students.
The affirmation was made by Deputy Prime Minister
Nguyen Thien Nhan in Hanoi on June 27 during his meeting with
leaders of eight delegations attending the fifth ASEAN Schools Games.
The Deputy PM praised the delegations’ active participation at the
games and thanked the ASEAN Schools Sports Council (ASSC) for helping
Vietnam host the event.
The annual games contribute to the
development of the sports movement and fosters friendship, solidarity
and mutual understanding among regional students, Nhan said.
For
his part, ASSC President Hawazi Daipi said the successful organisation
of this year’s event has promoted regional sports activities and offered
an exchange opportunity for Southeast Asian students.
More activities to enhance the movement and the abovementioned values should be held in the future, he added.-VNA
