Thanh Hang said: “Since the removal of screws is only minor surgery, I can walk. Every day I have to practice a recovery workout. However, I still do not know when I will practice running again. Perhaps I will have to wait at least a month for the wound to be healed. Also, my fibula is still not healed and is fixed.”
In late August 2012, Thanh Hang was hit by a motorcycle in a traffic accident, breaking her leg and fibula. For nearly a year off training, her weight increased from 46kg to 55kg.
Thanh Hang said: “It is likely that I cannot attend the SEA Games 2013. Though I’m impatient, I do not venture to practice early because it is very dangerous. So my biggest goal when the injury is healed completely is training towards the important tournaments in 2014 such as the National Sport Games and the 17th Asian Games in South Korea.”
