In his opening speech, Lord
Puttnam, the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy for Vietnam, Laos and
Cambodia expressed his pleasure to see the exhibition which is themed
“Vietnam-UK Relations-from the Past to the Future.”

Being the one who joined marches to protest the war in Vietnam in the
1960s, the diplomat said he hopes that the two countries will continue
to develop the bilateral friendship and cooperation.

According to Vietnam News Agency Deputy General Director Ngo Ha Thai,
100 selected photos reflect cooperation between Vietnam and the UK in
various areas, including politics, economics, culture and education,
science and technology.

It also shows visitors the images of Britain through the lens of Vietnamese photographers, he added.

The Deputy Director General said he believes that the exhibition will
help promote mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples,
contributing to strengthening the friendship, solidarity and bilateral
cooperation.

The event, jointly held by the Vietnam News Agency and the British Embassy, will run until October 6.-VNA
