With the trophy at the Thailand F3 Men’s Futures tennis tournament, Vietnamese tennis star Ly Hoang Nam leapt 62 places to 475th in the latest rankings of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) on July 3.
It is the highest ranking a Vietnamese tennis player has ever achieved so far.
Hoang Nam is one of the 32 best players in Asia.
He ranks second in South East Asia, behind Indonesian player Christopher Rungkat (No 463).
Meanwhile, Nam’s teammates Trinh Linh Giang and Nguyen Hoang Thien stayed at No 1351 and No 1472 in the men’s singles, respectively.
Nam is to play at the China F11 Men’s Futures tennis tournament this week.
