Manchester United (MU) ambassador and former goalie Peter Schmeichel
will visit Vietnam at the invitation of the Bank for Investment and
Development of Vietnam (BIDV).

He will attend the
signing of a cooperative agreement between his club and BIDV in Hanoi
on April 24 before meeting with fans at an event to introduce the
BIDV-MU Bronze Card in Ho Chi Minh City one day later.

MU players’ gifts, including the club’s jersey and ball with signatures
of all the first squad, Peter Schmeichel’s gloves and famous defender
Rio Ferdinand’s shoes will come up for a charity auction to be held by
BIDV on April 25.

Proceeds from the auction will be
presented to the Know the Heart Foundation to provide free heart surgery
for Vietnamese children.

As the most outstanding
goalkeeper in the club’s history and in the world, Peter won five
Premier League titles, three FA Cups and one Champions League after more
than a decade playing for Manchester United.

He was
the decisive factor behind the club’s great triple in 1999 together with
a dream team of other legends, including Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Roy
Kean and Paul Scholes.

The International Federation of
Football History Statistics (IFFHS) has chosen him as one of the
ten best goalkeepers in the 20th century.

His name was
listed at the English Football Hall of Fame in 2003 and also one of the
