A garden previously reserved for the royalty in the ancient imperial
city of Hue has been restored and opened to visitors as from April
21.
Gardening artisans in the city have brought more than 400
ornamental plants to the garden for display, attracting a large number
of tourists.
Co Ha was one of the five royal gardens inside the
Imperial Citadel. It was built in 1837 under the reign of King Minh
Mang. It was upgraded and restored during King Thieu Tri’s reign
(1848-1883) and King Tu Duc’s reign (1848-1883). However, the garden
fell into oblivion at the beginning of the 20th century.-VNA
