A documentary on President Ho Chi Minh was screened in La Habana,
Cuba on September 3 to mark Vietnam’s August Revolution (August 19) and
National Day (September 2).

The event was co-organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba and the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association.

In his opening remarks, Charge d’Affaires Dang Van Dung highlighted
the significance of the day when President Ho Chi Minh delivered the
Declaration of Independence 68 years ago, to establish the Democratic
Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

He
also stressed the indomitable spirit and heroism demonstrated by
Vietnamese generations in the struggle for national independence and
freedom.

The diplomat expressed his thanks to the great
support from leader Fidel Castro and Cuban people to Vietnam during the
war as well as the current national construction and development.

Also at the event, Cuban friends had a chance to explore Vietnam’s
handicrafts and photos featuring the solidarity and friendship between
the two countries.

Joining the celebration of the National Day
both at home and abroad, Vietnamese diplomatic missions in Angola,
Mexico and Bulgaria hosted banquets for foreign guests and overseas
Vietnamese communities.-VNA
