The 2013 International Marathon, the largest-scale sport event to
celebrate Vietnam’s 68 th National Day, wrapped up successfully and
safely in the central city of Da Nang on September 1.
Local runners outperformed nearly 3,400 other athletes, including 385
foreigners from 24 countries and territories to win both the marathon
(more than 42 kilometres) and half marathon (more than 21 kilometres)
races.
Pham Van Long came first in the marathon run in a time of 2h56’31”.
In the half marathon category, Le Van Tuan won the first prize for
men with the result of 1h16’. Meanwhile, Pham Thi Binh, also from
Vietnam , took 1h24’14” to successfully finish her race.
During the event, Da Nang city implemented various measures to
ensure security for the competition and safety for participants.-VNA
