On July 27, Mai Hung went to Hungary for a nearly a year and a half training course. In Hungary, she will be trained at the Chesscom Academy of Dr. Hoang Minh Chuong (father of international grandmaster Hoang Thanh Trang). Chesscom used to train many Vietnamese chess talents like Nguyen Thi Thanh An, Dao Thien Hai, Cao Sang …

This is the 2nd time Mai Hung is practicing at the Chesscom. Three years ago, at Chesscom, Mai Hung made significant progress in her career. At the First Saturday tournament in March 2010, Mai Hung played outstandingly and was granted the title International Master.

Mai Hung said: “In 2009 I had a training course in Singapore and in Hungary in early 2010. But this is the longest and the most important training course in my life.”

While in Hungary, Mai Hung will attend major chess tournaments in Europe. “I’m a female international master now and I will try to become a female international grandmaster and male international master,” she said.

Before leaving to Hungary, Mai Hung won the national championship at the First Division Chess Championship 2013.
