Top Vietnamese chess player Le Quang Liem has moved up to the 27 th
place in the World Chess Federation (FIDE)’s latest ranking for April
2013.
Liem’s new Elo is 2717, a bit more than the calculation
of the 2700chess.com (2716.8). Thus, he regained the Elo 2117 that he
had possessed in September 2011, when he ranked 25 th in the world.
The grandmaster will have the opportunity to improve his rankings and
Elo when attending the Asian Championships slated for May 17-27 in
Manila, the Philippines.
The champs will also offer a chance for Liem to earn a ticket to the World Chess Cup that is scheduled at the end of the year.-VNA
